The visual world of Beautiful Seeds is shaped through color, illustration, and symbolic imagery. Each visual element reflects identity, imagination, and cultural expression — transforming stories into a rich and meaningful visual language. Inspired by childhood, creativity, and lived experiences, the project uses visual arts to expand the narrative beyond words.

The illustrations and animations of Beautiful Seeds bloom through the vision of Hae Su, a visual storyteller from South Korea. Immersing herself in the soul of each documentary, she translates stories into images that breathe—capturing not only themes, but the quiet depth of each character’s spirit.

Through a language of colour, she speaks what words cannot: red pulses with the weight of racism, while yellow glows with the warmth of joy and hope. Every shade becomes a message, every line a gesture of care.

In her art, Black children are seen—fully, truthfully, beautifully—without filters, without distortion. Her characters radiate dignity and tenderness, challenging the narrow frames too often imposed by the animation industry.

Hae Su’s work is more than illustration; it is a gentle but powerful call to reimagine representation, to honour truth, and to celebrate beauty in its most authentic form.
